Kerryn Harvey
Kerryn Harvey is a para-athlete, motivational speaker, qualified personal trainer, and author based in Melbourne, Australia. In 2013, Kerryn contracted necrotising fasciitis - commonly known as flesh-eating bacteria - and survived against all odds with only a 5% chance of survival. To save her life, her left arm and shoulder were amputated in what is known as a forequarter arm amputation. After a long rehabilitation, she successfully rebuilt an active and fulfilling life and now inspires others to do the same. Kerryn is the owner and operator of Nine Lives Training, a personal training business where she coaches clients from all walks of life. She holds a Certificate IV in Fitness and is a qualified recreational run coach, boxing instructor, and indoor cycling instructor. Kerryn spent four years racing for Australia as an amputee paratriathlete, earning a silver medal at the 2015 Paratriathlon World Championships in Chicago and a bronze medal at the 2016 World Championships in Rotterdam. She has completed two Ironman events, four Ironman 70.3 races, the Tokyo, New York, and Berlin marathons, and ran 12 marathons in 12 months for charity. Her story has been featured in The Age, Herald Sun, Channel 7's Sunday Night, and on the ABC. Through her memoir Mostly Ups and her public speaking work, Kerryn shares her journey of surviving against all odds to thriving in life - proving that you can achieve any goal if you never give up.
